N-able Technologies® Announces Support for Microsoft® Windows® 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2
Industry leader's new N-central® 7.0 managed services software provides full support for Microsoft Windows 7 operating system and Windows Server 2008 R2
Ottawa, Canada — October 21, 2009 — Further distinguishing itself from its competitors, N-able Technologies®, the global leader in remote monitoring and management software for managed service providers (MSPs) and IT departments, today announced its new N-central® 7.0 technology offers full support for the highly anticipated Microsoft® Windows® 7 operating system and Windows Server 2008 R2.
Available worldwide in December 2009, N-able's N-central 7.0 managed services software, which includes new enterprise-class endpoint security capabilities and an industry-first hybrid licensing model that features free licenses, is fully compatible with Microsoft's new Windows 7 operating system. In addition, N-central 7.0 supports Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2, Internet Explorer 8.0 and Firefox 3.5.
Rob Bissett, director of product management for N-able, says the interoperability of N-central 7.0 and Windows 7 is seamless and has been extremely well received by N-able partners currently running N-central 7.0 in a limited field trial production environment.
"We received great feedback about N-central 7.0 at our recent Partner Summit in Arizona and the fact that it is Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 ready is big news to our partners and prospects, especially those who are on the cutting edge of technology innovations and eager to migrate their own businesses – as well as their clients' infrastructure – to Windows 7," says Bissett.
David Geffeney, vice president of operations for The IT Utility Company, an N-able MSP partner that has been beta-testing N-central 7.0 for several weeks now, says he is very pleased with the new feature set and excited about the Windows 7 support.
"Clearly N-central 7.0's compatibility with Windows 7 stands out immensely and is one of the primary reasons we see so much value in the new managed services toolset available from N-able," says Geffeney, whose company is based in Irvine, California. "We're very impressed with the overall simplicity, functionality and performance of N-central 7.0 and are eager to take it mainstream."
