Rob Rose serves as Director, Office of Strategy for IBM's BI & Performance Management Segment, and was most recently Chief Strategy officer for Cognos, acquired by IBM in 2008. In addition to working with management to set the company direction, he oversees corporate development, seeking out technology and companies that help to fulfill the organization's vision.
Rob is the author of Smooth Sailing on Rough Seas: 8 Principles of High-performance Business. He has written numerous articles about business performance management as well as technology and marketing trends for various industry publications and speaks regularly on technology industry and business topics.
Rob was a founding member of the Business Intelligence Division of Cognos and managed the company's industry-leading reporting and analysis products. The division is the core driver of the Cognos business and a software industry success story. Rob often lectures at universities on topics ranging from management trends and business performance management to technology adoption and product management.
