Challenge

After joining Ready Digital in 2011, Carlo Ruggeri was impressed by the N‑able N‑sight platform’s usability, integration services, customization options, and multitenant dashboard. Ready Digital uses N‑sight to check that everything has been installed and configured correctly after the daily activities of its technicians. They’re also able to quickly intervene when system alerts and anomalies occur.

“N‑sight’s monitoring enables us to effectively control things like post-installation systems, backup, and resource usage, as well as checking performance during the execution of applications,” adds Carlo. “All this can be monitored and eventually corrected to boost customer satisfaction. Potential system errors are quickly highlighted through verified alerts, and data is collected and shown on dashboards so we can easily monitor activities.”

However, Carlo wanted complete control of the devices on his customers’ networks. He believed API queries would allow him to extend the platform’s power and develop scripts to control devices.

Solution

That’s when Ready Digital discovered N‑able N‑sight, a Remote Monitoring and Management solution with an embedded automation manager that can help users easily develop scripts. Through the extensive use of scripting and automation, the team can now provide customers with proactive rather than reactive support.

Always looking to push boundaries, Ready Digital is also working to develop a machine-learning platform that takes network data from N‑sight and uses that to predict customer issues.

Carlo concludes: “As a group, we are focused in three main parts: cloud, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, and we hope to increase our collaboration with the N‑able across all these areas.”

While the company deals directly with N‑able for a lot of their issues, they retain close contact with their Italian distributor, Mario Menichetti at CIPS Informatica, who originally brokered the deal with N‑able. Mario recently brought them in to an event to help educate other Italian MSPs on the power of using automation, particularly within the N‑sight platform.
