A Nerd’s Eye View of the N‑able Roadshows

It’s hard to believed that we’ve passed the midpoint of 2024 already, and as usual it has been another busy year—particularly when it comes to N‑able Roadshows. We kicked off the roadshow program in the second half of 2023, and this year has seen an expanded list of cities and countries that N‑able has visited or is visiting. As someone who works remotely, I always enjoy the opportunity to get out of the home office and go meet both partners and colleagues at these events. I’ve been fortunate to attend six roadshows across four countries in Germany, England, The Netherlands, and Scotland this year. As we look ahead to the latter half of this year and even more stops in more cities and countries on the horizon, I thought now would be a good time to highlight some of the key things I’m seeing and hearing when on the road with N‑able.

Attendees Love the Venues

I have to give a big shout out to the N‑able events team here, they have done an amazing job in picking the venues for these roadshows. I’m sure we are all familiar with events in dimly lit conference rooms, they hardly live in the memory. That can’t be said for the N‑able roadshows, we’ve had some stunning locations across the globe with a personal highlight for me being the London roadshow on the 40th and top floor of the Gherkin building with a 360-degree view right over the City of London. These unique venues certainly have a positive impact on everyone, and you can tell that with the interaction and feedback I have had from those in attendance.

We are on the Right Path with our Roadmap

One of my roles at these roadshows has been to present our N‑able roadmap and the overwhelming rection to it has been hugely positive. People are extremely excited about our Ecoverse vision, and the UX enhancements to N‑central are meeting with widespread approval. When challenging the attendees to list pain points or areas that we have not addressed in the roadmap they are struggling to do so.

Cyber Security is Front of Mind for Everybody

Our recent MSP Horizons Report produced by Nable and international MSP-focused research firm, Canalys, stated that over the next three years, the fastest growing MSPs will be the ones that are investing in skills and certifications for MDR, XDR, network and endpoint security tools, managed endpoint and devices, vulnerability scanning, and cloud infrastructure management.

The solutions MSPs can offer will play a huge role in their ability to grow, so it is no surprise that there was particular interest in our sponsor presentations from SentinelOne and ThreatLocker, along with our new Adlumin MDR offering in partnership with Adlumin. At every roadshow I attended there was full agreement in the rooms that if you are not going to grow your security offerings to better protect your clients, then you risk being left behind by the rest of the MSP industry.

Everyone is Asking About Cloud Commander

For those of you who’ve met me, it will come as no surprise to know that I never shy away from networking drinks—particularly if there’s a bottle or two of cold beer on the go—and the six roadshows I’ve been to this year have been no exception. Often you could be asked a myriad of questions here, but the common theme so far this year has centred around Cloud Commander. For some they are seeing this product for the first time and are hungry for more information on how they can utilize it to support their clients; particularly as they see the shift to cloud services growing all the time. For others who have seen Cloud Commander during its development phase they are surprised by its enhancements in recent months, and are keen to try its new features. As the product develops I can see it being the topic of many more conversations moving forward.

Moving Forward

We will be kicking off the roadshows again in September with an updated roadmap and new topics and discussions.  We will be re-visiting some stops we have been to already and we’ve added in plenty of new locations as well. Make sure you keep an eye on the N‑able events page and be part of these great events in a city near you.

If you have questions join me on the N-Central office hours. For more insight on how you can get the most out of N‑central, you can attend our N‑central Boot Camps, recordings of which are available in the N‑ableU.
