Diversity, Equality, and Belonging (DEB): A Core Part of the N-ablite Journey

At N‑able, we strive to make sure every N-ablite knows their voice is heard, their work makes a difference, and that they belong to a workplace that welcomes and values them for who they are. We know that when we come together and learn from each other with different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences there’s no end to what we can achieve as a team. Through our culture of belonging, we put our people at the center of everything we do.

We have a holistic strategy for Diversity, Equality, and Belonging (DEB) that is focused on attracting, retaining, and developing diverse talent. Prioritizing DEB is a widely communicated focus area for our company.

How We Define DEB
To help us keep DEB top of mind, we’ve defined what it means to us at N‑able globally to ensure a collective understanding. These definitions have helped us overcome geographical and cultural differences and facilitated the “breaking down of barriers” so that we can all learn from one another with an open mind and heart.

 


The presence of difference within a given setting. For us, this means multiple identities are represented here at N‑able.

Equal access to opportunities, advancement, and support. We ensure this by acknowledging that one size does not fit all when providing equal access for those who have not historically had it.

Ensuring individuals feel included, valued, and celebrated for who they are and what they bring to the table. We want every N-ablite to feel like an integral part of the culture and that their voices and work make a difference.

 

We use the term equality (instead of equity, which is widely referenced in the US) because it translates more clearly across our global workforce. To ensure common understanding, our definition of equality acknowledges that one size does not fit all when it comes to access and opportunities.

CEO Action Pledge

As an important step in our journey, our CEO signed the CEO Action Pledge for Diversity & Inclusion. With over 2,400 signatories, 85+ industries supported, this is the largest business-led initiative to advance DEB in the workplace. As part of this initiative, we encouraged all N-ablites to share their own pledge with actions they plan to take to help ensure N‑able is a great workplace place for all. Signing this pledge reinforces our support and commitment towards DEB at N‑able, and you can read more about our recent action to Advance DEB.

Creating Community through Connection
With N-ablites in almost 15 countries around the globe, one of the ways we connect is through our Communities of Interest (COIs), which are N-ablite-driven, company-sponsored groups. In addition to creating inclusivity and belonging, each group has a component of giving to help us extend the positive impact of community.

Here’s a look at our Communities of Interest, and ways you can increase connection and champion others with a career at N‑able:


WONDER (Women of N‑able Defining Equality & Respect)
Creating a community of women and champions by building awareness, providing education, and effecting behavioral change.

PRISM (Pride, Resilience, Inclusivity, Success, Mindfulness)
Supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and allies, while advocating within the organization by providing resources and support

Shades
Empowering People of Color to excel by creating community, gaining visibility, and fueling opportunities for growth.

Additionally, we provide education and uniquely designed engagement programming monthly to commemorate key observances such as Lunar New Year, Black History Month, International Women’s Day, Pride Month, and more. We also strive to lessen the representation gap in tech through corporate giving and funding educational opportunities for underrepresented communities in STEM.

DEB Outreach

We believe in championing DEB within N‑able and within our broader community. That’s why we work to build strategic relationships with community partners around the world as we seek to attract and retain diverse talent. Whether we’re sponsoring DEB events, speaking on panels, serving as conference moderators and more, we’re working to create lasting connections in the pursuit of creating a great workplace for all.
