N‑able VoluNteer Spotlight: Kenneth Rountree
Our N‑able VoluNteer Spotlight series honors and promotes the tireless work of N-ablite volunteers around the globe and dives deeper into their stories and the causes they support. During our Season of Giving, we had the chance to highlight N-ablites who used the benefit of our two fully paid VoluNteer Days to give their time and talents to surrounding communities in this special time of year.
For the latest edition of our VoluNteer Spotlight Series, we sat down with Kenneth Rountree, a Partner Success Manager in our Raleigh Collaboration Hub. Kenneth shared with us his experience partnering with the Boys and Girls Club, what giving means to him, his experience as a volunteer and role model, and more!
Kenneth, tell us why you love to support the Boys & Girls Club? Was this your first time volunteering with them or have you been a longtime supporter?
I support the Boys & Girls Club because I believe kids are our future and what we instill in them now will benefit them and us in the years ahead. They are the foundation and I feel that we need to make sure we N-spire them and give them a sense of belonging. I’m an ongoing supporter, for sure, young people will always need the support of positive adults.
What types of volunteer activities have you helped with and what did you do while volunteering?
I work with the Boys & Girls Club to coordinate and set up the group volunteer activities. During the activities, I also get the opportunity to participate and talk with the kids. I’ve organized a few initiatives including a day of kickball, a Back-to-School drive, and currently, we are now doing an Angel Tree for some of the kids for the holidays.
Which N‑able core value do you feel like you were able to display on your VoluNteer Day and why?
The core value I display is ‘N-Spire Others’. I strive to share this core value because I find that it’s important to N-spire the children to first and foremost embrace their individuality. Secondly, I believe positive role models are necessary for the growth and development of our youth. Lastly, I also want to help N-spire them to have a positive outlook on life, and to work hard to accomplish any goals they set for themselves.
What does giving mean to you as an N-ablite?
To me, giving as an N-ablite, is when I have the opportunity to offer my time, talents, and resources to others in a way that will positively assist those on the receiving end. Giving while expecting nothing in return—other than helping to generate positivity for others—is my goal.
