AI-Speed Attacks Have Moved Past the Endpoint. Here’s How to Answer Them.

AI-speed attacks use AI to find and exploit weaknesses faster, and across more of the business, than human-paced defenses can follow. Answering them takes two things: protection that reaches beyond the endpoint to identities, cloud, AI usage and data, and AI-accelerated defense that prevents, triages and investigates at machine speed, with people making the calls that matter.

That thinking sits behind the expanded N-able and SentinelOne® relationship announced at OneCon 2026. Below, we look at what changed about the attack, why the endpoint alone no longer covers the risk, and how teams can build an answer one step at a time.

How has AI changed cyberattacks?

AI has made attacks faster, easier to run and wider in reach. The N-able 2026 State of the SOC Report records adversaries exploring AI to scale and refine their tactics, and expects adversarial AI attacks to accelerate through 2026 and 2027.

The exposure side tells the same story. According to the Verizon 2026 Data Breach Investigations Report:

  • 31% of breaches now start with an exploited vulnerability, which has overtaken stolen credentials as the most common way in.
  • Only 26% of known exploited critical vulnerabilities were fully remediated in 2025, down from 38%.
  • 43 days was the median time to remediate them.

Attackers are finding and using weaknesses faster than most teams can close them. For business leaders, that turns patching speed and coverage into a business risk question, not just an IT one.

Why isn’t endpoint protection enough anymore?

Endpoint protection still matters, but it now covers only part of the risk. The N-able 2026 State of the SOC Report, built from more than 900,000 alerts observed between March and December 2025, found that 50% of attacks bypass endpoint controls entirely. The top attack vector shifted from endpoints in 2023, to cloud in 2024, to network and perimeter in 2025.

The estate stopped being a list of laptops. It now includes the identities people log in with, the cloud accounts the business runs on, and the AI tools employees use every day. Each one needs coverage, and every gap between separate security tools is a place for an attacker to slip through.

What does “fighting AI with AI” mean in practice?

Fighting AI with AI means using AI where speed matters most, while people stay in control of the decisions that need judgment. Volume makes this necessary: of 909,155 alerts N-able processed in 2025, 658,532 required correlation across layers, at an average of two alerts per minute (N-able 2026 State of the SOC Report).

In the expanded N-able and SentinelOne portfolio, AI does three distinct jobs:

  1. Detection and Response. Behavioral AI in Singularity Complete stops and contains threats on the device without waiting for a human decision. If something gets through, one-click rollback on Windows reverses the changes an attacker made, without a rebuild.
  2. Investigation and triage. Purple AI turns alerts into findings, summaries and timelines in plain language. Singularity Hyperautomation orchestrates response workflows. Build fully automated workflows or add approval steps. You decide.
  3. AI governance. Prompt Security inspects prompts, file uploads and responses in real time, redacting sensitive data before it reaches a model and defending against prompt injection and jailbreak attempts. That matters when 69% of organizations suspect or have evidence that employees use prohibited public generative AI (Gartner survey of 302 cybersecurity leaders, March to May 2025).

For IT managers, the practical result is security depth that grows with AI rather than with headcount.

Why does one accountable partner matter?

Covering five surfaces with five vendors means five contracts, five support lines and the seams in between. When something goes wrong, the first hour is often spent working out whose problem it is.

The expanded relationship puts SentinelOne technology and N-able Unified Endpoint Management (UEM), Adlumin Security Operations and Cove Data Protection with N-able providing a unified commercial and support experience for customers. N-able teams are trained to the SentinelOne standard, and the two companies have protected organizations together since 2019. N-able is even entrusted to deliver SentinelOne FedRAMP solutions for eligible U.S. government agencies, contractors and organizations with strict public-sector requirements.

For MSP owners, that means one security practice across every customer environment. For IT leaders, it means one vendor accountable for the whole estate, with evidence available on demand.

What changes day to day for IT administrators?

For the people running the estate, the biggest change is that extending security becomes a policy decision rather than a project. When Singularity Complete is bought with N-central or N-sight:

  • Protection deploys by policy, not by ticket. Agents roll out across every site, and detections surface where your team already works.
  • Coverage gaps show up first. See which devices are protected, which are not, and where protection has stopped working.
  • Exposure gets closed, not just counted. Scan 900+ third-party applications across Windows, macOS and Linux, prioritize by CVSS, CISA KEV, EPSS and live device context with the N-zo AI assistant explaining what to fix first, then patch 500+ third-party applications and the operating system and re-scan to verify.
  • AI governance rolls out at scale. N-central and N-sight show where AI tools are in use, and Prompt Security deploys through them to control what is shared.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI-speed attack?

An AI-speed attack is one where attackers use AI to scale and refine their tactics, such as writing convincing phishing, finding exploitable weaknesses or moving across a network faster than a human-paced defense can respond. The answer is coverage beyond the endpoint plus AI-accelerated prevention, triage and investigation, with people making the decisions that need judgment.

What does the expanded N-able and SentinelOne portfolio include?

It brings Singularity Complete, Purple AI, RemoteOps Forensics, Prompt Security, Singularity Hyperautomation and Singularity Data Lake alongside N-able UEM, Adlumin Security Operations and Cove Data Protection. Coverage extends into identity with Singularity Identity and into cloud with Singularity Cloud Native Security, with Wayfinder MDR available as a managed option.

Do I need N-central or N-sight to buy Singularity Complete?

No. Singularity Complete is primarily purchased with N-central or N-sight and is also available standalone. The integrated benefits, such as policy-driven deployment, site mapping and detections surfaced in your RMM, apply when it is bought with N-central or N-sight.

Can N-able deliver SentinelOne FedRAMP solutions?

Yes. Through the expanded relationship, N-able supports SentinelOne FedRAMP offerings for eligible U.S. government agencies, contractors and other organizations with stringent public-sector security requirements.

The bottom line

AI has made attacks faster and wider, and half of them never touch the endpoint. The answer is protection across every surface an attacker can reach, AI that works at the speed of the attack, and one partner accountable for the result.
