N‑able VoluNteer Spotlight: Adrian Popescu

We love sharing global N-ablite VoluNteer Spotlights to show our people make a difference in their communities with two fully-paid VoluNteer Days each year. We’re so proud of all the ways our N-ablites come together to drive progress, change, and impact—one story at a time.
This time we’re checking in with Senior Architect, Adrian Popescu, in our Bucharest Collaboration Hub. Adrian recently spent time with Casa Buna, an organization that supports children with education, life necessities, and FuN- games to brighten their day.
Why do you love supporting Casa Buna?
Casa Buna helps provide education, healthcare, practical skills training, and basic necessities for children—such as a bed, warm meals, clothes, and shoes. I believe that every child should be given the chance to succeed in life and this organization helps provide each child, regardless of where they come from, with these important opportunities.
What did you do during your VoluNteer Day?
Part of the work Casa Buna does is teach important life skills through sports. In addition to the kids having fun, they are learning from healthy competition and are being exposed to a potential career in athletics. One of these sports is very dear to me: table tennis. When they had a charity table tennis tournament (endorsed by famous pro player, Otilia Badescu), I was N-spired and excited to participate. Between tournament matches and sharing tips and tricks, I had a great time playing my favorite sport and teaching the kids. I even ended up winning the amateur competition.
Which N‑able core value do you feel like you were able to display on your VoluNteer Day and why?
As a VoluNteer, the value I most embodied was N-spiring Others. I was able to channel my table tennis passion to serve a greater cause, and it allowed me the opportunity to connect and mentor kids in my community. For example, one child was very competitive and was disappointed when he did not score all of the points—this can be a difficult lesson to understand at a young age. I helped explain to him that it’s okay to not always win and felt I N-spired him with a greater lesson of having a positive attitude, trying your very best, and being a good teammate.
Thank you, Adrian, for sharing your story with us! Stay tuned for more N-spiring stories like Adrian’s from our N-ablites across the globe. In the meantime, check out some of our other VoluNteer Spotlights:
