Scaling scripting operations with greater visibility and control

Scripting is a critical part of automating tasks, resolving issues, and operating efficiently at scale. When environments grow, so does the challenge of executing and tracking scripts consistently across devices.

As part of a broader effort to deliver a more consistent and user-friendly scripting experience across the N‑able portfolio, new enhancements are now available in public preview.  These updates focus on simplifying how teams execute, monitor, and manage scripting activity at scale, while building on the capabilities already in place today.

Execute scripts across more devices, in less time

Coordinating script execution across multiple endpoints can be time-consuming, especially when working across operating systems and device states.

With bulk execution added to the new Scripting capabilities in Assets View, technicians can act across multiple Windows, macOS, and Linux devices in a single step. Offline devices are also included, with scripts running automatically when those devices reconnect.

The result is a simpler, more scalable way to execute routine tasks without increasing manual effort.

Bring scripting activity into a single, centralized view

As scripting activity increases, visibility becomes just as important as execution.

The new Executions view introduces a centralized way to track script runs across the environment. Teams can access a consolidated history that includes:

  • Execution status
  • Script outputs
  • Filtering options to quickly locate relevant activity

This shared view helps reduce time spent piecing together information and makes it easier to validate outcomes or troubleshoot issues.

Stay on top of script tasks with greater clarity

In addition to execution history, teams also need a clear way to monitor what is currently pending.

The Script Tasks view provides a single interface to track pending and completed activity. From one grid, technicians can review task status, identify bottlenecks, and cancel tasks when priorities change.

This added layer of visibility helps teams stay organized and responsive in dynamic environments.

Built to support control and accountability

As scripting usage scales, maintaining governance remains essential.

These enhancements include built-in audit logging and role-based permissions, helping ensure that all actions are tracked and aligned with internal policies. This provides a foundation for consistent, controlled scripting operations across teams.

Part of a broader scripting evolution

These updates represent the next step in a broader effort to evolve the scripting experience across N‑sight and N‑central.

Additional capabilities planned next, include:

  • Script scheduling for more automation
  • AI-assisted script creation to accelerate development
  • Expanded policy controls for greater governance

Together, this initiative is focused on making scripting more accessible, more scalable, and easier to manage, without disrupting the capabilities teams already rely on today.
