One Education Ltd Transforms Service with Cove Data Protection

One Education needed a solution that offered multifaceted data protection. Being able to offer reliable and safe data protection, backup, and recovery options to schools and educational providers was essential. Significant staff time savings and included cloud storage were appealing.

One Education’s prior backup solution consumed 20-30 hours per week—almost a full-time employee—just to be sure the backups were running and to diagnose and fix issues. Now, with Cove, they’re down to two hours a week or less of administrative time. Automated ticket creation, automated reports, and at-a-glance status charts make it a “set it and forget it” solution for the most part.

Cove’s ability to diagnose issues very quickly and provide the reason as to why something is failing means that the One Education team can resolve issues without wasting valuable hours and resources. Jonathon Gandy pointed out that, “On the time management side, it just looks after itself. Before, it was such a time intensive task that we struggled to manage it.”

These time savings also impact backup frequency and consistency. With the previous solution, the company would sometimes still be fixing errors when it was time to do the next backup. That’s no longer a problem with Cove.

Reduction in Backup Failures
Prior to implementing Cove, it was very common for One Education to have up to 80 backup failures per week. “Right now, looking at our dashboard, we’ve only had a few failed backups,” said Jonathan Hambleton. “To us, that is Holy Grail territory.”

“With Cove, management overheads have moved from unmanageable to minimal, to the point where we almost feel like we could ‘set it and forget it,’ allowing us to focus on delivering high quality support.” said Jonathan Hambleton.

Ease of Deployment and Integration

One Education is particularly impressed with Cove’s ability to be rapidly and easily deployed across their whole portfolio in several hours with very few issues. “To have the ability to roll something out so quickly is invaluable to us and something we need to leverage more,” explained Jonathan Hambleton.
