  • 15:30 – 16:00: MCP Explained: Giving an AI Hands on Your RMM

Ben Lee, Head Nerd – N-able
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is quickly becoming the standard way to connect AI assistants to business systems, and N-central is now one of them. This session starts from first principles: what MCP is, how a client such as Claude or Microsoft Copilot discovers and calls tools, and where credentials and permissions sit in that chain. We then look at the two servers that connect an AI to N-central: the official N-able MCP, built on the GraphQL API and the unified asset view, and the community-built n-central-mcp that wraps the REST API. We cover what each can see, how write access is controlled, and where support sits for each, along with practical guidance on introducing AI access to your RMM safely.

  • 16:00 – 16:30: From Chat to Agent: Building on the N-able MCP in Copilot Studio

Ben Lee, Head Nerd – N-able
Once an AI assistant can see into N-central, the next step is turning that access into something your team can use every day. This session picks up where the MCP session left off and takes the official N-able MCP into Microsoft Copilot Studio. We look at what goes into building an agent: connecting the MCP server as a tool, writing instructions that keep the agent focused, adding the knowledge it needs, and testing before wider release. No code is required. You will leave with an agent pattern you can adapt to your own MSP.

  • 16:30 – 17:00: Understanding Microsoft 365 Updates: Making Sense of Change in an Evergreen Platform

Ben Lee, Head Nerd – N-able
Most IT teams still think about updates in on-premises terms: fixed schedules and predictable releases. Microsoft 365 does not work that way. Changes roll out continuously and in stages, and two organisations can see the same feature weeks apart. This session explains how Microsoft deploys change through rings, channels and staged rollouts, and introduces a simple model for separating release, rollout and availability. We look at where administrators still have meaningful control and how to read the Roadmap and Message Center as planning signals rather than delivery dates.
