Empower 2022 Day 2: Driving your success

After a great party last night and some good networking, we kicked off day two with Kevin Bury and Robert Wilburn looking at what N‑able is doing to drive partner success. There’s been a lot of changes in Partner Success over the past 12 months with new programs, new people, and new groups. In this time, we’ve launched some key assets designed to help you build your businesses, including MarketBuilder, the Executive Sponsor Program, Benchmarking, our Business Transformation program, N‑hanced Services, and our NOC partnership with IT By Design.

Kevin and Robert also explained how things will be changing in the coming year, as we look to introduce a new framework around how we work with you to help make your businesses a success. This essentially falls into three areas: product success, business success, and account success. The premise is that we want to work with our partners to make sure you’re getting the most out of your products before we start to help you develop your business. We’re going to be offering a group of programs you can get involved in for each of these areas.

MSSP Maturity Panel

This was followed on the main stage by our MSSP Maturity Panel, which was moderated by Joe Panettieri, Executive VP and Editorial Director at Channel E2E. Joe was joined by Ben Tercha of Omega Systems, Patrick Layton of Impact Networking and Christian Kelly of Xantrion. The conversation took a deep dive into the make-or-break decision points MSPs face today around security and whether to become an MSSP, merge with or buy one, or simply partner to offer advanced managed security services. Each of the panel shared their experiences and knowledge, and we’ll be pulling out some of the key insights and sharing those with you in more details on the blog over the coming weeks.

Vendor presentations

We also continued our deep relationship with SentinelOne as Chris Boehm took to the main stage to look at how today’s threat detection and response landscape has evolved to encompass a range of solutions such as endpoint protection, network and cloud detection tools, SIEM, and security orchestration, automation and response tools. Across this entire ecosystem of connected security tools, XDR is the new cornerstone of today’s highly efficient security operations program. Also on the main stage another vendor partner Blackpoint Cyber’s Jon Murchison provided some deep insights into present and future cyber threats, as well as how bundled offerings, managed solutions, and re-engineered partner tools ensure the best protection and fastest ROI possible for MSPs.

Nerd Sessions

This was as usual supported by some great Nerd education sessions in the breakouts rooms, including Website Teardowns Live! where Head Nerd Stefanie Hammond worked with Mark Copeman, founder of Wisecurve, gave some important advice on you can get your websites in the best state to help them grow their businesses. Check out some more of Stefanie and Mark’s tips to creating an MSP website that will improve prospect conversion and engagement in these two blogs: Part 1 and Part 2. On top of this, Marc-Andre Tanguay ran two powerful breakouts sessions on building service programs in N‑central and aligning your MSP business to Cybersecurity Frameworks.

More M&A

And again, we continued our popular focus on M&A with three more sessions from Davide di Labio as well as a meet and greet that allowed MSP owners to network with some of the M&A experts that have been at Empower 2022.

Thanks to everyone that came to Empower 2022, and we hope you’ve taken away plenty to get your businesses moving to the next level.
