Nable launching Cove Data Protection at Infosec Europe

N‑able is no stranger to Infosecurity Europe’s heavy–hitting event that brings thousands of IT professionals and hundreds of the world’s top security vendors to a single place. However, what makes this year special is that we’re launching Cove Data Protection to this amazing community.
Ahead of this launch, we took the time to sit down with Stefan Voss, VP of product management at N‑able, and ask a few questions about Cove Data Protection, as well as the big launch at Infosecurity Europe 2022.
For those who are unaware, what is Cove Data Protection?
Cove’s cloud-first SaaS architecture offers a better way to meet today’s data protection challenges. It combines business-class disaster recovery with fast, direct-to-cloud backup and long-term data retention to help companies meet the needs of a full range of business challenges. Cove protects servers, workstations, and Microsoft 365—and cloud storage is included, with 30 data centers worldwide.
As a SaaS application, we handle the back-end administration, and with a unified management dashboard, we can save companies hours of time every week on checking and troubleshooting backup.
Ok so this event is all about security, how does Cove help IT teams stay secure?
The biggest threat to businesses today is ransomware, and Cove helps to reduce the size of the attack surface, making cyber attacks less effective and easier to recover from. It does this in three ways:
- By storing primary backup copies in the cloud, off the local network, and out of the reach of a bad actor with network access
- By requiring two-factor authentication to minimize unauthorized access
- By keeping the data protection infrastructure (the app) off your network, as it is a fully hosted SaaS application
Structuring data protection in this way means businesses can be prepared for all types of disasters—physical, natural, or malicious.
What are the top reasons to visit the Cove booth (R49)?
That’s a great question. A few things really stand out. Traditional image backup and backup appliances were built to solve yesterday’s problems. However, that is now decades–old technology and mind set. We hear from customers every day switching from Veeam and similar products to cloud data protection, and they tell us:
- Cove is more efficient—moving 60X less data per incremental backup. This means you can back up more often, for better RPOs.
- Cove saves administrative time—customers tell us they spend only 10% of the time managing Cove that they spent with their legacy backup products.
